INDUSTRY LEADERS INSPIRE “ENABLING SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY” INNOVATION SALON IN SAN FRANCISCO

San Francisco, CA — Innovators from Acuity Brands, Cushman and Wakefield, BMW iVentures, the San Francisco MTA and the American Academy of Ophthalmology will lead a “Green Parking: Enabling Sustainable Urban Mobility” workshop at San Francisco’s historic and sustainable Bently Reserve. This latest in the series of “innovation acceleration salons” hosted by the Green Parking Council (GPC) will take place on March 26, 2014 at 5:30PM at The Bently Reserve, 301 Battery Street in San Francisco.

“GPC’s salons continue our program of fostering innovation in the ways that urban mobility, sustainable structures and parking facilities are incorporated into the fabric of modern city life,” stated Paul Wessel, GPC Executive Director.  “The 2014 salon is the fifth in a series of events, and concentrates primarily on successes in garage sustainability, EV charging advancements and the role that parking plays in transportation and mobility.”

“The panel of presenters for 2014 is particularly impressive in terms of knowledge and scope,” Wessel continued.  “They will engage the issues from both a big picture perspective as well as from the local level, such as how California’s recently updated energy code impacts parking garages.”

Moderator Steve Ring, Regional Director of Cushman & Wakefield and immediate past president of BOMA San Francisco BOMA will open the discussion with reflections from the real estate industry.  He will be joined by Lou Cuneo, American Academy of Ophthalmology speaking on “Green Parking – An opportunity for commercial real estate;” Alex Do, Acuity Brands Lighting addressing how “CA Title 24 requires greater garage efficiency;” Peter Dempster, BMW Mobility Services presenting “BMW: EVs in mobility services: Everybody wins;” and Jay Primus, San Francisco MTA exploring “Parking in a new age of mobility.”

Local sponsors include BEI Construction, The Bently Reserve, BMW iVentures, & Cushman and Wakefield.
